About Me

I love Nature and I believe in protecting the Earth. 

My husband and I are both born in San Francisco and raised in Marin County north of the Golden Gate Bridge. We raised our four children in Marin County too.  Covid-19 lockdowns seemed to change everything we learned, knew, and relied on in our modern life.  As soon as May of 2021...we bought a 5 acre ranch and moved away from the crowded Bay Area in search of a more peaceful and comfortable way to spend our days.

We found our paradise in the mountains of San Diego near our grandchildren and modern conveniences.  I have set about to learn more about sustainability through gardening on a home farm. Don't get me wrong, there is lots to love about modern life and I do enjoy a quality grocery store with fine local artisan foods and imported delicacies.  But modern life as we have experienced these past few years has revealed its ills, and unforeseen problems.

As I learn, I am sharing the adventure with our grandchildren to take with them into the future.  You are invited to come along and I welcome your comments.

There is a term for this growing trend of people moving out of the urban and suburban lifestyle and onto rural land.  It's called:  Modern Homesteading!

WARNING:  Modern homesteading builds your confidence, provides you with security and peace of mind, it boosts your health, is super fun, addicting and good for the planet!  By the way, you don't need to own land to be a modern homesteader.  Check out my blog.   You've probably already started your journey as a modern homesteader with out even realizing it - like I did.  Read more at my blog.
